Ingredients for Idli Sambar Recipe in Hindi

अरहर दाल – 1 कप (Pigeon peas – 1 cup (Arhar dal))
गाजर – 2 (छोटा) (Carrot – 2 (small) )
प्याज़ – 2 (Onion)
सूखी लाल मिर्च – 2 (Dry red chilli)
टमाटर – 2 (Tomato)
हल्दी – 1/4 T spoon (Turmeric powder)
इमली का पेस्ट – 2 Table spoon (Tamarind paste)
सांबर पाउडर – 1 T spoon (Sambar powder)
कड़ी पत्ता – 10 -12 (Curry leaves)
राय – 1/4 T spoon (Mustard seeds)
उरद दाल – 1/4 T spoon (White lentil)
हींग – 1/4 T spoon (Asafoetida)
धनिया पत्ता – 2 Table spoon (बारीक़ काट हुआ) (Coriander leaves (finely chopped))
नमक – स्वादानुसार (Salt)
तेल – अवयस्कता अनुसार (Oil)

How to Make Idli Sambar Recipe – विधि

★ अब दाल को धो कर कुकर में डाल कर उसमे 2 कप पानी डाल कर उबाल लीजिये.

★ प्याज़ को थोड़ा बड़े टुकड़ो में काट लीजिये. टमाटर को बारीक़ काट लीजिये. गाजर को छोटे टुकड़ो में काट लीजिये.

★ अब उबला हुआ दाल को अछि तरह मेश कर लीजिये.

★ अब कड़ाई में तेल डाल कर गरम कीजिये. अब उसमे राय, उरद दाल, कड़ी पत्ता, सूखी लाल मिर्च डाल कर भुने. उसके बाद कटा हुआ प्याज़ डाल कर पकाये. अब गाजर, टमाटर, नमक डाल कर 5 तक मिनट पकाये. अब सांबर पाउडर, हींग, इमली का पेस्ट, हल्दी डाल कर मिलाये. उसके बाद 1 कप पानी मिलाकर 5 मिनट तक पकाये. अब मेश किया हुआ दाल मिलाकर 3 – 4 मिनट सांबर को आप ज्यादा पतला या गाड़ा रखना चाहते है उस हिसाब से पका कर गैस बंद कर लीजिये. अब सांबर में धनिया पत्ता डाल कर मिलाये. गरमा गरम इडली सांबर तैयार.

Idli Sambar Recipe In English

★ Wash pigeon peas, put them in cooker pour 2 cups of water and keep it on stove for boiling.

★ Cuts onions in to slightly large pieces. Finely chop tomatoes. Cut carrots in to small pieces.

★ Mash boiled pigeon peas.

★ Heat oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds, white lentil, curry leaves, dry red chilli and fry them. Add onion pieces and cook. Add carrots, tomatoes, salt and cook for 5 mins. Add sambar powder, asafoetida, tamarind paste, turmeric powder and mix. Add 1 cup water and cook for 5 mins. Add mashed pigeon peas and cook for 3 to 4 mins. If you want sambar to be thin or thick cook accordingly and switch off gas. Add coriander leaves and mix. Tasty Idli Sambar is ready.
